Behind the scenes, there is love
We WANT YOU TO KNOW ALL ABOUT our PRODUCTS - MADE WITH LOVE, PRIDE, AND RESPECT.
Our products are manufactured using eco-friendly materials according to strict sustainable production guidelines. All Les Sublimes products contain a maximum of 10% of synthetic fibers (to allow for movement, durability and comfort) because we believe in making clothing from natural and botanical fibers that have a low environmental impact. For our current collection we use the following fibers:
- Lenzing MicroModal®, certified OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
- Organic Cotton, certified GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)
We produce all of our styles in the small town of Renaison, France - 400 km south of Paris. Founded in 1974 by Madame Pérard, the family business now employs 10 people. The atelier is a light, spacious place where fabric scraps are recycled and workers enjoy fair pay, regular holidays, health care and a pension.
We are very proud of the detailed work that goes into making all of our products. We use the highest quality yarns by Fil Au Chinois, a celebrated French manufacturer founded in 1847. Their yarns are produced in Northern France.
All of our tags and labels displaying our logo, sizes and country of origin are developed by a Taiwanese family business. We are proud to share that our origin tags are made from recycled polyester.
PACKAGING AND ACCESSORIES
We carefully source packaging composed of eco-friendly and locally-made materials, produced by our small business partners in France. Click here to learn more about our shipping box, silk paper, tape and cards.
Our tote bags are GOTS-certified throughout the entire production chain, from the organic cotton itself, to the manufacturing process. They are sewn in India and screen-printed in Western France.
TRANSPORT AND SHIPPING
From it's beginnings as beechwood tree fiber in Austria, to fabric in our workshop in Renaison, to our shipping headquarters in Paris, a Les Sublimes product currently travels just 1200 km from start to finish, compared to a cotton t-shirt, which travels in average 35,000 km across several continents from raw fiber to warehouse.
Our orders are shipped using Colissimo, a carbon-neutral delivery service that offsets all of its emissions. When possible, deliveries in and around Paris are made by bike-courier to avoid carbon emissions altogether.
We create the designs for each of our pieces in our little studio in Paris, together with a talented Parisian sample maker who shares the same social and environmental values as we do.
