Mode Estime is an atelier d'insertion - a special association that assists people who struggle to integrate the work force, providing them with training, education, experience and employable skills in textile manufacturing. The small collective of male and female workers includes refugees and people with disabilities who struggle to earn a fair wage. Under the direction of Head of Atelier, Patricia Levalois, the team learns from start to finish how to make detailed patterns, cut fabrics and sew high-end garments. Since its launch in 2011, twelve members of Mode Estime have already found long-term employment or have gone on to earn a diploma through their participation in this local initiative. Everyone at Mode Estime earns a living wage in addition to receiving hands-on training. The atelier itself, located in residential île Saint Denis on the northern outskirts of Paris, is safe, airy and inviting, filled with natural light.
Located 30 minutes from our Paris headquarters, producing locally with Mode Estime significantly reduces the carbon footprint of our products.
Items made in the atelier support the re-integration of hardworking individuals into the local work force. By partnering with Mode Estime, we get to contribute to the preservation of a diminishing French garment industry and its unique savoir-faire. As a French brand, we are proud to support local jobs, and can guarantee fair wages and high workplace standards according to French labour laws.
We produce all of our limited edition and deadstock fabric styles with Mode Estime. As a unique and highly-skilled atelier, they are able to adapt to small production runs and work with a variety of premium fabrics. They handle the entire manufacturing process from grading and cutting, to sewing the final product.
