Ever wonder why it’s so difficult to find that perfect pair of jeans? It seems like no matter how many hours we spend trekking through boutiques and thrift stores, something is always missing. Maybe you find a wash and style that you like, but the fit is off. Or perhaps you’ve found a pair that fit like a glove, but they just don’t have that vintage look you were going for. How is it that everyone on Instagram seems to have found the jeans of their dreams except us???
Well, turns out they had a little help.
Re/Done jeans may be the answer to our sartorial prayers. Founded in 2011 by Sean Barron and Jamie Mazur, the LA-based brand has made their mark by sourcing vintage Levis from around the world and transforming them into modern, wearable pieces. In fact, you’ve probably seen their work donned by your favorite celebs and influencers without even realizing it. Some of their high-profile clients include Alessandra Ambrosia, Elsa Hosk, Lucy Williams and Bella Hadid. The Re-Done designers begin by taking each pair of vintage jeans apart at the seam, and re-creating them to reflect the fit and styles that modern women want, without losing the original frayed pockets and torn knees that make them so special. When you purchase a pair through their website, it is that very pair that arrives at your doorstep. No mass production here. Each pair is completely unique and tells it’s own story.
Besides the recycling element involved, the brand is committed to water conservation and doesn't use any harsh chemicals throughout the manufacturing process. So not only are you receiving a perfect pair of jeans, you are choosing to spend your money on pieces that have had a much smaller social and environmental impact than most other mainstream denim in stores today. The creators of Re/Done are not stopping with denim either. So far they’ve launched a collaboration with Hanes to perfect the classic white-t, a line of upcycled vintage sweatpants and sweaters, and are planning to announce the arrival of their collection of leather jackets sometime in the near future. Want to check it out for yourself? Products are available for purchase through their website at shopredone.com, or through select retailers like Nordstrom.
